Seahawks Edged Out by Bandits

We always knew it was going to be a good game, and we needed to come out strong. And we did. Toby came out shooting, adding two 3's in the first quarter, alongside one from myself, one from Rhys and a 3point play from Christian, backed up by solid zone D, to give us an 18-14 lead after 1.

Weymouth then started to get rolling and took the lead before the Hawks replied and closed the gap to 29-30, before going into the break 29-34 down.

Our offence slowed right down in the 3rd as we gave away the ball too cheaply, and could get good looks at the basket. Our defence was still solid, holding former BBL player Olly Turner to 15pts, but turnovers led to easy baskets for the Bandits as they took control of the game, but a little 6-0 run to end the quarter kept us in the game, and only down 12.

Unfortunately every time we made a little come back, the Bandits replied, and then stretched it out further. But in Seahawks tradition we played to the buzzer, with Andy adding 6pts to his tally down the stretch, and in his first senior minutes Aiden Taylor opened his account with a breakaway layup.

It finished 51-72, with a rather flattering scoreline.

[Scorers: Strongman 17, Wood 11, Cherrett 8, Foster 6, Johnston 4, Thomarel 3, Nupov 2, Taylor 2]

Bandits MVP: Louie Weaver - 11pts
