[All of this will sound a touch cheesy, but bear with me...]
ENJOY.
Hopefully you have or are wanting to join the Seahawks because you enjoy the game! Enjoyment can come from the social setting of a club, seeing your friends, exercise and physical activity, plus the game of basketball. We want everyone to enjoy the sessions, and want to come back. Then as we push through the season, the enjoyment will come from wins, and achieving our goals...
ASPIRE.
Once you have found that enjoyment, you will find yourself looking forward. Pushing yourself to the next limit, target or goal. As Coaches we are aiming to Inspire you; But it is each individual who finds their own aspirations. We can all set targets and goals: make 5 layups in a row, 5 Free Throws, 5 3's... get selected for a match, make the starting 5, lead the team... whatever it is, its personal, but set short term and long term goals, and Aspire towards them.
ACHIEVE.
You can only achieve a goal, if you set one; And then do everything you can, to make sure you get there.

We, as coaches, have set 5 targets this season:
1) Win U12 DBA
2) Win U14 DBA
3) Win U16 DBA
4) Win U18 DBA
5) A Winning Season in DBA Div3 Men's. >0.500%
1) to 4) There is absolutely zero reason why we can't run a clean sweep on the DBA this year. Every age is looking solid from Trials. We have larger age group sizes, and splitting sessions means we have greater depth in our squads. Every age group has added experience (and some height) and we are looking stronger than ever.
With work, effort and belief, THIS IS DO-ABLE.
5) Some great players have graduated and moved on, yes, but every player has already shown they can step up and fill those boots. We are going to be working harder in sessions, pushing and learning as we go. HARD PRACTICE = EASY GAME.
Im not saying the Div3 will be an easy ride, but new teams, younger inexperienced players, or older slower players...
Storm have lost every player except 1...
Spartans are getting older and slower and more injury prone...
Legends we beat last year easy at home, lost by 2 on the road... and we finished above them
Tigers2 are an unknown, but their Div1 team finished bottom last year...
Evolution2 are un unknown, but we know that they have a bunch of U18 players in that squad...
We play each team 3 times. 15 games. >0.500%.
