With a whole host of Seahawks on the injury roster currently, we took a weakened team to face the Jam in the Solent Cup. Although everyone gave their all, never giving up and working well for each other, the Jam were too strong and experienced for this to be a close game.
We started well, sticking with them in the initial minutes, trading baskets, but soon they opened up a lead that they never looked to give up.
Positives include great rebounding and 2nd/3rd chances with the offence, great running on the break and transition down the court, effort from every player, & good team work. We could work on cheap turnovers, weak passes and travel calls, plus defence in transition, applying pressure to the ball in fast break situations.
Shout out to Harley Churchill, in his first senior fixture at the age of 13, mixing it with the big boys. Unfortunate not to open his scoring account, but a solid performance all round.
