The BCS Seahawks have (unsurprisingly) remained in Division 3 for the upcoming Solent Area Basketball Association (SABA) league.

The other teams are Bournemouth Classics, Southbourne, Tigers2, Winchester Nets, Portsmouth Jam, Weymouth and Tres Barrilles Heat.

With a win and a close loss to the Classics last year, we hope we can do the double on them this year. Local rivals Southbourne have always been close games, with a last minute crushing loss last season, again we hope we can go one better.

The Tres Barilles Heat see demotion from Div2 and consolidate with the Vikings team. Whilst their other team, the Predators are old adversaries with a last minute 6pt game away from home, maybe this year we can swing it in our favour.

The Tigers2 are a new team, with the Tigers1 who beat us easy in previous seasons, heading up Div2. with Mike and Luca running junior South Coast Tigers teams we could face a team of similar aged boys.

Winchester Warriors and Wizards have seen a split between members and now have become the Royals (Div2) and Nets (Div3) and although the Warriors handed us a 19pt loss and an 18pt loss, they games were much closer than the scoreboard gives credit. With some players going either way, this could help or hinder us.

Weymouth return to the league after a year out. They were a younger team like ours 2 years ago, and we dominated them in the way fixture but had a narrow loss in the home fixture. If this is the same team we have a good chance of a double win.

And finally the Jam, a strong team who are known for their strong tactics too. They will probably be up at the top of the league table, but having faced disciplinary action last year, we will go into the games with some caution.

This league always brings such promise and close calls over the last few years. If we can turn those close loses into wins we could have a great season. Either way, we know we will have fun and gain respect from players and teams around the region.
