U16's Show Class Against St. Peters

Monday 7th Dec saw the U16 Christchurch Schools Tournament. With BCS, Twynham and St Peters playing at BCS, whilst Grange, Highcliffe and Arnewood met at the Grange.

BCS had faced St Peters last week and won 35-22 in a unconvincing performance but today we had our chance to better them again. Without Henry Lau and Alex Zhong Lu, it was a chance for some of the younger or less experienced players to impress. However St Peter's also had the disadvantage of playing thier U15 team since Y11's had their mock exam week.

In 2 x 10 min halves, BCS clearly showed skill and organisation and it was one way traffic. The first 3 mins and Iraj had opened the scoring, before Josh came alive. He had 5 before St Peters put any on the board. Kevin and Stephen Lao teamed up again and with Kevin (the older brother) doing the mad dribble skills, while Stephen dropped the baskets. Josh continued to slice a weak open defence, driving and scoring at will. Tom Tang had a good performance at both ends and finished the halves scoring. It was 22-4 at the end of the halve.

It continued much the same way in the 2nd, but Josh gave way to give some younger players some time. And then Harry Warren lit up the score board. He quickly dropped 10 points, unanswered, before helping Myles add some to his tally. The Lao twins teamed up again running the fast break before Josh came back on and got the foul on the layup but couldnt convert the 3point play.

It ended 50 - 8.

It was a great game by all. Confidence but not arrogance at the offensive end and calm, structured defence meant the training paid off to a good solid win.

[Scorers: J Strongman 17, H Warren 10, I Safaee 8, T Tang 4, M Rothenburg 4, K Lao 4, S Lao 3]
