The season is drawing near and the first round of fixtures have been released and verified...
Due to the long time of zero play and teams not knowing who they have and where they stand, Dorset Association have elected for a 2 part season...
Up until Christmas, all 12 teams will take part in Conferences of 4 teams. They each play each other Home & Away, and then the top 2 from each conference will advance to Division1, whilst the lower 2 will play Division2.
Seahawks have been drawn in Conference B, alongside Dorset Storm2, Dorset Spartans and Bournemouth Bears.
Dorset Storm2 is a new team expansion, with Storm1 being the current champions, this gives their lower players chance to play and will see many U18 players also suiting up. We have no idea who or how they will play!
Dorset Spartans have struggled in Div1 in past years, with a thin roster that hampered progress, but some solid players make them strong. We know they have been recruiting hard and picking up players, but again we have no idea who they have retained from previous years.
Bournemouth Bears are in theory the best team in the Conference, with some University players and National League players amongst their ranks. However they may use DBA to give experience to younger or less experienced players, and keep their best fresh for National League games... however they may not.
Conference A - Dorset Storm, Southbourne Blazers, Bridport Evolution and BG Suns... expect Storm to win it easy, and most likely Evolution to grab 2nd.
Conference C - Bournemouth Oaks, South Coast Tigers, Weymouth Bandits, Bournemouth Classics... should be won by the Oaks or Tigers, but many Oaks are still serving suspensions, so could be some upsets.
