5 wins from 6 in DBA Junior Tournaments...

Sunday Dec 12th.

The U12 continued their winning ways in the U12 competition. Starting off against Poole Piranhas, it was a super close game. Everyone was working so hard for the good of the team, and although we were getting good shots it was 4-4 at the half. Piranhas jumped out to a 8-4 lead and the come back was led by Jack Baccus and Lucas Lane. Lucas Allen tied the game from the free throw line and in the final minute Aaron Marshall hit the go-ahead winning shot!! 10-8.

Weymouth beat the Piranhas, before we faced them. Ben Shawyer had the half of his life, grabbing 8 points himself, as we led 10-6 at the half. Better team Defence in the 2nd half held them to 6 points, as Jack, Lucas A, and Phoenix Martin added points. It finished 16-6.

U12's finish the Winter Term top of their league with 3 wins from 3!!

U14s were short handed with only 6 players, but everyone was working really well together and moving the ball well. George Serasidis led the way against Piranhas with Alex Bourn also driving and scoring well. Milo added 2 more to make it 12-6 at the half. Milo got 2 more as we closed out the game 16-12.

Weymouth then beat the Piranhas, with a last second 3 point shot to take it 21-18.

Against Weymouth it was a closer game, and the first half finished 6-6. With Hamoudi nursing cut knees after a slide, he was still running rings around everyone. When George went down with a hamstring pull, it was harder for the remaining 5 guys... but George checked back in with 3 minutes to go, and grabbed both the tying basket, and the winning shot. 12-10.

U14s also finish the Winter Term top of their league, with 4 wins from 4!!!

The U17's needed to rejuvenate after some big losses last time out. And although the first game saw the Piranhas show their class, the play was much improved. Offence we need to look after the ball more with too many loose passes and dribbling into holes. Defence was weak, with lack of communication the key, as Piranhas pulled holes in the D for easy scores. 25-50.

Piranhas then beat the Tropics 52-18 but showed we could beat the Tropics.

In a closer game we worked on the problems from the first game. We looked after the ball more and had control at 10-4 at the break. Haoran was the stand out player with solid driving with 12points himself, but we let them back into the game, and no points in the 4th quarter for us made a tense finish, but we held on 20-17.

U17's sit 2nd of the 3, 1W-1L. [the results from Rd1 were cleared after Seahawks dropped to just one team]
