For the second time we couldn't buy a basket against the Southbourne Donkeys and although we had every opportunity to win, by getting good, proper looks at the basket, forced little, gave few turnovers and managed defence, we just struggled getting the ball to roll in.
Even with a superiority in play, and a negative in scoring, we stayed close to the Donkeys through 1, taking the lead 11-10, but a run of 5-6 mins saw them jump to an 11 pt lead at the half. We cut into it occasionally, had it done to 7 points, but the Donkeys kept us at arms reach, getting everything from the free throw line, whilst again we struggled to get the ball to drop. Fair play to the Donkeys who have improved constantly over the year and are looking to move up the table.
On the night, it just wasn't to be, but again a good cup run and gained experience all round.
