SEAHAWKS CRUISE TO OPENING WIN OVER SUNS!

And so the DBA season kicked off in style, the Seahawks were ready and pumped and we came out flying. Big guys quickly showed their dominance inside, forcing the Suns to outside shots and grabbing rebounds at both ends, we jumped out to 11-0 lead before the Suns opened their account. Even without last seasons MVP, Vito, out with a shoulder injury, Vuk was running the point and getting all involved. It was 17-3 at the end of 1.

The second was a similar affair, but the Suns started to find a bit of rhythm, but with the sidelines spurring us on every step, it was Seahawks all the way. Boris and Yera dominating inside boards, with great put backs, and Adam adding 4 in his column we jumped out to 34-17 at the half.

Although we felt like we were cruising, the game wasn't over, and we knew we had to turn the screw and keep pushing. Vuk was running and gunning, and dishing, and the plays started clicking, as the passes found great cuts for easy baskets. The press D was creating turnovers and break away lay-ups. 50-27 after 3. The lead allowed the newer guys to play, get the minutes and relax into the game. Edison was using his speed to turn players inside out with a sweet And-1; Shawn was driving with intent and seemed to get smacked every time for his worth; Raul, settled into it, played great hassle D, and just rattled out a 3 from a nicely drawn up play from Coach Mills, but a nice drive got him 2 from the line, to open his senior account. Ray topped off a great all round performance with a nice drive and dish assist from Vuk, found Ray wide open in the corner to splash the 3.

It wasn't the best performance, we could all admit we were a bit rusty, and have things to improve, however, we did play as a team. We played with heart, we played our basketball, never giving up and came out with our biggest win in Seahawks history, 72-44! Massive congrats to all the team, with every player doing their part, and getting involved, and a massive thanks to the support from the sidelines.
