Convincing Win as Season Gets Under Way...

As the Seahawks season kicked off with an U19 fixture, away at Canford School, we knew we had the skill to beat them, and it was a question of how we were going to play, as a team, after just 3 training sessions, or as individuals... We were also missing some experience in Captain Yera (ankle injury), Brendan Wilson (football) and Adam Walker (football) but knowing we had great strength in depth.

And it was clear that with solid D turning into easy offences, break away lay-ups, that the boys were already firing. Boris, Vito doing the majority of the scoring in the first quarter, but with new recruit Vuk Vujacic finding his feet and bonding with his new team mates, it was all Seahawks. 18-0 after 1.

More of the same in the second Q, with some of the other players getting on the score sheet, with Edison Chen breaking some ankles with slick dribbles, and a nice dish to Ray Yang to open his account. 31-2 at the break.

Both Coaches now were just concentrating on how the boys played, not the score. But again solid D, now in a zone, allowed for easy breaks and streak ahead passes. But truly unselfish play let everyone get involved. Kelvin Lee added 4 to his name and shout out to Kian Safaee, who played solid underneath and had so great looks, but the ball just kept rolling out.

It finished 65-10 in a brilliant convincing win that will kick start the season. Everyone is ready and buzzing to get the senior fixtures underway on October 3rd against local rivals and new DBA team, Boscombe Garden Suns.

[Scorers: V. Vujacic 22, V. Cheng 20, B.Petrov 11, K. Lee 4, S. Krairit 2, R, Yang 2, E. Chen 2.]
