The U19's, playing with a weakened side, faced Canford in a local friendly. Without Captain and big-man Yera Aimaganbetov (ankle), 6th formers Paco and Bryan stepped into the side to face a Canford side, now coached by BU Performance coaches, Michael and Luca Dronyk.
With Boris doing a fair bit of the damage in the first quarter, working hard inside, the young Seahawks jumped out to an early lead 13-6 after 10.
The ball continued to move well on offence but we relied a little too much on Iso ball, and longer shots, on stiff tough rims only scoring 6 in the quarter. And with Canford finding a little form inside and from the foul line, it was 19-11 at the half.
Vito was working the ball better in the 3rd, and our defensive press allowed for easy fast break lay-ups, but Canford replied, winning the quarter, as Boris left in foul trouble allowing their bigs some space inside. 24-29 after 3.
The final quarter started much better, with a 6-0 run, before Canford had a late surge to cut the deficit, but all too late, as the Seahawks held out for a solid win. 42-34.
